Apple Picking Fun!

Who doesn't love a delicious apple? I know I sure do and so does Sawyer! Mom took us apple picking this weekend and it was awesome! There were so many apples everywhere we turned. It's a good thing that mom bought the large size bag because we needed it! Sawyer and I filled it up in no time. Just check out the size of the apples I'm holding, they were huge! After we were done filling up our bag, mom bought us some yummy cider donuts and cider. I think Sawyer ate 2 donuts himself. Mom has been going crazy this week trying to use up all those apples. She's made apple sauce, maple apple bread, apple cupcakes and apple pie. Fingers crossed she makes up some apple butter tomorrow since that is my favorite. Maybe we'll even get an apple crisp out of it!

First Day of School

So it's official: I'm a Preschooler!! Today was my first day and it was so much fun! My teacher is Ms. Chick and there are 9 other kids in my class. My classroom has a ton of fun things to play with, lots of art supplies and even a hamster named Cupcake. She's really cute and she loves strawberries and raspberries, just like me! I even made a new friend; her name is Aly and she lives just around the corner from me. After school, mom took Sawyer and me to celebrate with a cheesy bagel. I can't wait to go back to school next week and play in the sandbox and make some more cool art projects!

 

Look What Sawyer Can Do!

So I haven't posted in a while, so I'm trying to make up for it.  I thought I'd post some videos of what Sawyer has been up to since he's growing soo fast!  He started walking on June 3rd and he hasn't stopped since!  He can go anywhere now and is totally getting into everything, though I keep telling him not to hit dad with the golf clubs.  He loves walking around outside, but mom seriously needs to get him a pair of shoes so he doesn't hurt his feet. 

And he loves to dance, but really only to one song: Bad Romance by Lady Gaga.  Guess he's just supper trendy.  But boy can he move!  Makes me want to dance, too!

It's Raspberry Season!

I love this time of year!  The sun is shining, the beach is open and mom has the freezer stocked with popsicles.  But the best part about this year?  I get to share it with Sawyer!!

Our friends Molly and Quinn came over yesterday and we had such a great time!  We played on the swing set, splashed around in our little pool, and took full advantage of our garden: the raspberries are in!!  We picked them together and ate them in the shade.  Talk about a perfect afternoon!  And I'm not sure if you can tell by these photos, but Sawyer really likes raspberries, almost as much as I do!

Strawberry Picking!

The weather is so nice outside that mom decided we should go strawberry picking today, just the 2 of us.  And I'm soo glad she invited me!  I always thought that strawberries came from the grocery store or the little strawberry plant on our porch, but boy was I surprised!  There were rows and rows of huge strawberry plants at the farm we went to.  They even had strawberries planted between rows of peach trees!  I had no idea they could grow like that!

And let me tell you, I have never had strawberries like this.  They were so juicy and warm from being in the sun.  My hands and face were all pink when we left.  Did I mention that I probably ate more strawberries than I picked?  When we checked out, we ended up picking 6.5 pounds of berries!!  Now we need to figure out what to do with them.  I gave a couple to Sawyer and he loved them.  Dad says we should make ice cream and mom says we should make jam.  I better put some aside for me before they are all gone!!

Playing Dress-Up

Sawyer and I love to play dress-up.  It's so fun to pretend you're someone you're not and fun to act out stories.  I let Sawyer borrow my fireman's hat and we pretended that we were working together on a construction site that caught on fire.  Good thing we were both there to save the day!

Then I found my rocket ship costume in the closet and just had to put it on.  Mom even found my old dog costume and it fit Sawyer perfectly!  We spent the afternoon pretending that we were trying to put the first dog into space on board the coolest rocket ship ever.  So glad I have Sawyer to pretend with, he's really good at it!!

Funny Videos

Hey, hey!  Sawyer and I have been up to our usual amount of nonsense these days.  We love to goof around anywhere we can and anyway we can.  Just check out our cool videos that we worked really hard on.  My favorite is the bath, which is really a typical bath time for us.  But Sawyer really likes the one where he's walking behind the wagon.  It's his new favorite thing to do and boy is he a natural.  Mom thinks he'll be walking really soon, but it could be sooner if I keep encouraging him!

Happy birthday, uncle Matt!!  I had a great time posing for this photo, though there was mostly screaming and tears involved, especially from mom.  And to further celebrate the day, Sawyer learned how to blow kisses!  How cute is my little bro??

Sawyer Is Getting So Big

You wouldn't believe it, but Sawyer is one big kid! He's crawling everywhere and getting into everything, especially Emma's food and my toys. He has 3 distinct crawling styles: traditional, his right leg straight and the bear crawl where he is only on his hands and feet. The bear crawl is mom's favorite.

He's also standing any chance he gets and will pull up on anything. And he's chewing on anything that gets near his mouth, including his own hand. I just love watching him grow up and learn cool new things. He babbles non-stop and loves to shriek. He loves to clap and it is the cutest thing! He has a bunch of teeth and boy can that kid eat! He tries anything mom puts in front of him and seems to love just about everything. This works out perfectly for me since I can always give him what I don't want. Shh, don't tell mom about my plan!!

Bath Time Follies

Bath time in our house is always a good time.  I get the party started by loading up the tub with tons of toys.  And not just toys that I like, but ones that Sawyer likes too because I'm a good big brother.  Then mom and dad just add water and sometimes bubbles and the fun begins!  Sawyer spends most of the time chewing on toys or splashing with his hands and feet.  But I like to crawl around the tub and pretend I'm a scuba diver.  Then I splash too much and get water all over the floor and Sawyer gets whisked right out and bath time is over.  But it sure is fun until it ends!!

Happy Birthday To Me!

 

I had an amazing birthday today!! There was a ton of cake which really wasn't a cake but 16 cupcakes put together with a ton of frosting to look like a cake! Best invention ever!! Then I had a bunch of friends over and we had a great time playing outside. The weather was soo nice and it was about 80 degrees! So naturally we kept cool with juice boxes and popsicles. Delicious! And I got some really cool presents! I got a new sprinkler for the back yard, some new cars, a movie, and cool shoes.

But my 2 favorite things are the cool Cars 2 jacket that uncle Marc and aunt Shawn sent and a Cars 2 scooter that my neighbors got for me!  Dad was able to get a little picture of me in the jacket, but I was more than happy to pose with my scooter.  I love living on the edge, but even I worry about safety these days so I make sure I have on my hard hat anytime I use my scooter inside.  Dad says we need to get a real helmet so I can use it outside but that's cool.  For now, I'll just keep it inside and let Sawyer chase me around the house!

Working Hard

Sawyer and I have been working hard this winter, keeping active and busy.  Sawyer has been working on getting up the step from the family room into the dining room.  He almost had it today, but he still needs to practice.  Me, I've been perfecting my block and fort building skills.  But you really can't do anything until you've had a good breakfast.  Of course mama wishes I would eat more, but a few bites of oatmeal are all I need before I head off to work at the salt mines!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day, everyone!  I hope everyone had as good of a day as we did.  Mama and dad gave me some delicious candy including this tasty heart-shaped ring that Sawyer kept trying to steal.  He's a baby so he can't have candy, but he doesn't believe me.  And it doesn't help that he's getting good at crawling.  Pretty soon, he'll be running after me to get my candy.  Or, maybe mama will give him some candy and I can steal it from him.  Hmm, I like that plan...
