Sharing With Friends

I love tomatoes. And I love my friends. But do I love sharing my tomatoes with my friends? You bet!! I was a bit hesitant at first, but Mom said that we have a ton of tomatoes in the backyard so there is plenty to share. So during snack time today, I decided to share some with my cool leopard that uncle Frank and aunt Jodie gave me when I was really little. He's kind of big so I haven't been able to play with him until I got bigger. And since I'm a giant now, he's just the right size. We had a great conversation while we ate and turns out he loves tomatoes just as much as I do. I can tell that we are going to be good friends for a very long time!

Summer's Not Over Yet!

Mom and I refuse to acknowledge that summer is almost over. We both love the warm weather too much to let it go! I always have such a great time hanging out at the beach and playing at the playground. We recently met some friends at a beach in Marshfield and hung out for the day. There were about 10 kids and we all played together really well. Then this cool dog showed up and she just loved when mom threw rocks in the water (I've never seen a dog run in the water like that before, it was hilarious!!). We all hung out and had lunch together, but it is hard to keep sand out of a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. I don't remember it, but mom snapped this photo of me sleeping on the way home. Somehow, my neck didn't even hurt when I woke up. But I easily could have slept another hour or so, I was exhausted!

Happy Labor Day!

Boy, Labor Day weekend sure was fun! It was so much fun, I took yesterday off to just relax and recover from my busy weekend. Our friends, the Drobots, drove here (all the way from Michigan!) and stayed with us for a few days. They have 2 big kids, Mitchell and Rylee, and I loved watching and hanging out with them. We all went to the beach one day (it sure was hot that day!). We also went to the aquarium (Rylee made up a cool song about 70-year-old Myrtle the turtle) while dad and his friend, Scott, went for a tour at the Sam Adams brewery. I think we had much more fun than them since we ended our outing with cookies at Faneuil Hall. The Drobots even went to a Red Sox game and but they lost. But we went out for barbeque that night and Mitchell and Rylee drowned their sorrows in waffles (who knew you could have waffles for dinner??).

I was sad when they left on Sunday morning, but mom and dad knew just how to cheer me up: Thomas the Train! At Edaville USA, they had a ton of stuff for kids like me to do, including carnival-type rides! I really didn't like going on the rides by myself, but I loved going on them with mom and dad. The best part was the train ride around the park with Thomas the Tank Engine pulling our train. He is such a nice tank engine and I bet grandpa Cal would be good friends with him. I was so exhausted after having so much fun, so I was glad that we just hung out around the house on Monday. My friend, Clive, and his parents came over and we all had some yummy gazpacho for a snack. Then today, I started swimming lessons again. I was a bit overwhelmed and cried just about the whole time. I did tell mom that I'll try to like it more next week, but I'm not making any promises!

Gardening Fun

I'm so glad that mom planted a garden for me. I just love the taste of just picked, fresh tomatoes!! It is so much fun walking through the garden with Emma, feeling the breeze on my bare bum, and pondering which plump tomato I'm going to shove in my mouth first. Apparently, my cheeks can hold quite a few of them (learned that trick from my chipmunk friends). The best part about summer tomatoes? It doesn't matter if they're red or green, they are all delicious!

Summer Activities!

Mom and I have had a very busy week. I was a little sick on Monday so we just lounged around and listened to the huge rainstorm outside. More rain on Tuesday, but we spent the afternoon taking care of Emma since she had a tooth pulled that morning (I was extra gentle to her and let her sleep in peace). On Wednesday, we went to the Ecotarium which had tons of cool animals (like the possum in the picture) and all sorts of activities for kids like me. My favorite was this electricity exhibit where you had to put different batteries onto each shelf. Once you had the right amount of batteries on a shelf, a light would go on. Mom had to drag me away from it, but she was right it was time to go. Today, we spent a few hours at the mall since dad's car needed a new battery installed (so cool seeing where sick cars go to feel better!). In the afternoon, we headed to the lake to enjoy our first day of sunshine this week. I loved throwing rocks on the water and watching the boats go by. Mom says we're going to the beach again tomorrow, but I just hope it's warm enough. Then we're going to the Vineyard tomorrow night with dad and Emma for even more beach time. Hope they let me take a nap in between all these beach trips!

Where Has This Summer Gone??

We have been having so much fun this summer, especially enjoying the hot and sunny weather (makes for a perfect beach day!). But today it is rainy, grey and cold!! Makes mom sad to think that summer weather might just be on the way out. I have my fingers crossed that we'll have warm weather this weekend, just for her.

We had an awesome time on the Vineyard with dad's family earlier this month. I loved hanging out with grandma Bina and grandpa Cal, and I loved spending time with my cousins, Paige and Jessica. Have I told you how cool my aunt Shawn is? But I am kinda scared of uncle Marc; hopefully he'll be less scary the next time I see him (or maybe I'll be braver by then!). We hung out at the beach (check out the cool sand octopus that Paige created at Gay Head!), ate a ton of yummy food and just wasted as much time as we could doing nothing. Talk about a relaxing vacation!

This weekend, we went back to the Vineyard since mom wanted to take me to the Agricultural Fair. It was awesome!! There were big rides that made cool noises, yummy fried dough, and the hugest horses you've ever seen! But the best part, by far, were the tractors. They were actually having tractor pulling competitions, so it was cool seeing them in action. We also saw some cool photos, vegetables (there was a pumpkin that was as big as me!), and handmade quilts that people had entered into the fair contest. Mom liked the preserved foods the best, but dad always loves the photos. Mom says they're both going to enter something in next year's fair. I can't wait to see if they both will win a blue ribbon!

Summer Lovin'

Sorry I've been absent for the month of July, we've just been so busy! We spent the first week back in Michigan and spent a ton of time with my family, visiting with friends and eating a ton of food. Who knew summer food was so delicious?? Emma and I are especially enjoying the corn (as you can tell). Then I've been spending some time working on my all over tan in the backyard. Thank goodness we have a really tall fence! Then grandma Joyce and aunt Karrie came out for a visit and took equal turns hugging and loving on me. I've also had quite a few play dates thrown in the mix since mom wants to keep me busy so I'll nap well during the day. I think mom and I might be going to the beach, but the highlight is definitely dad's family coming to town at the end of this week. I can't wait to see everyone soon!
