Working Hard

Sawyer and I have been working hard this winter, keeping active and busy.  Sawyer has been working on getting up the step from the family room into the dining room.  He almost had it today, but he still needs to practice.  Me, I've been perfecting my block and fort building skills.  But you really can't do anything until you've had a good breakfast.  Of course mama wishes I would eat more, but a few bites of oatmeal are all I need before I head off to work at the salt mines!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day, everyone!  I hope everyone had as good of a day as we did.  Mama and dad gave me some delicious candy including this tasty heart-shaped ring that Sawyer kept trying to steal.  He's a baby so he can't have candy, but he doesn't believe me.  And it doesn't help that he's getting good at crawling.  Pretty soon, he'll be running after me to get my candy.  Or, maybe mama will give him some candy and I can steal it from him.  Hmm, I like that plan...

Something To Clap About

I think I'm a pretty happy guy, but Sawyer definitely knows how to have a good time!  He's always laughing at me or Emma and always smiles when he sees mama.  Just check out these photos to see how big his smile is.  But I do love the new way he has to express his happiness: clapping!  And he's really good at it.  Mama took a couple of videos of it and I hope everyone enjoys them!

Guess What Sawyer Can Do?!?!

We are so excited to share this great news with everyone: Sawyer is starting to crawl!!  Mom is a little nervous about it, but I think it's so cool!  He can crawl across a room all by himself.  I just have to put out one of his favorite toys and he comes right over.  Let's just hope his favorite toys don't include my Lightning McQueen cars!!

Happy New Year!

Hey there!! I have been so busy this month that I've been a little negligent with the blog. Sorry about that. But I'm going to do my best to get this blog back on track.  I thought I'd post some random pics from our trip to Michigan at Christmas time.  We saw so many people and did so many things, we were exhausted at the end!  But the highlight was seeing Santa on Christmas morning!  He was so cool, and he even brought me a Holly Shiftwell car.  He totally knows what a kid wants!
This shirt says it all.

Sawyer just loves kisses!

Oh yeah, Santa and I are
really close!

Who ordered the Coop dog?

Can I eat this dog?

These are the best
cookies ever!!

Sawyer is showing Grandma how to
rock out on his new guitar!

Another of Coop's great photos!

And Sawyer sure is getting big!  He'll be 7 months old tomorrow, but mom says we really only celebrate when he turns 1 year old.  My fingers are crossed for lots of cupcakes for his birthday!  At his 6 month check-up, he was 27 inches long (56th percentile), weighed 17lbs 3oz (31st percentile) and his head was the 81st percentile!  He definitely takes after uncle Marc in the head department, but it's not holding him back one bit!  He is almost crawling and gets closer and closesr every day.  I'll have mom take some more video tomorrow but here is a short clip of him rocking.  Mom says he has to rock like this to figure out how to crawl, but it just looks funny to me.  I can't wait til he's able to chase me around the house but we're going to have to set some ground rules about my cars first.
I'm soo handsome!

Updates On Us

Well we are almost to Christmas and I can't wait!!  To help get us in the spirit, mom took us to see Santa today.  What a great gut he is!  He even gave me candy and a coloring book at the end!
Now you're probably wondering what's up with Baby Sawyer. Let me tell you, he's been busy! He's rolling around like crazy and it seems like he's always trying to eat my cars. Mom says he started getting his first tooth last Wednesday so maybe he can start eating real food like me. Speaking of food, mom and dad have him eating oatmeal these days and they started him on pureed foods last weekend. Mom says peas are his favorite so far, but he's also tried bananas, avocado and carrots. He must really like food since he's already 16 pounds.  And thankfully we are finally both pink eye free. That was a long 2 weeks for all of us!

We are now getting ready for our big trip back to MI for the holidays. Mom says it's a really long car ride but she borrowed a portable DVD player from my friend Juliana so hopefully that will keep me busy.  I just can't wait to see all of our family soon.  Safe travels to everyone and make sure there are some cookies waiting for me when we get there!!

Sawyer Sure Is Busy

Boy, let me tell you, Sawyer is a very busy little guy. I even have a hard time keeping up with him and I have a ton of energy! He laughs, he shrieks, and his newest trick is rolling. He can roll onto his stomach and then he can roll right over onto his back, he is so talented. Guess I'll have to come up with some new tricks to teach him since he is such a quick study!
