Expecting Company!

Good news! Grandma Bina and grandpa Cal are coming out to see me today! I can't wait!! They're flying all the way from Michigan and they'll be here later this afternoon. Mom said that grandma Bina is going to eat me up which kind of scared me. But she explained that it's a figure of speech and that eating babies is against the law. That made me feel better. Dad is looking forward to seeing his parents and I know we're going to do lots of fun things while they're here. Have a safe flight, grandma and grandpa!!

Happy Memorial Day

Yesterday, we all went to my friend Bayley's 1st birthday party. It was at an indoor playground sort of place with lots of fun stuff to do. Mom and dad hopped around inside a big blow-up castle and it looked like they had a lot of fun. Mom also took me down a huge inflatable slide (watch the fun video!) and dad helped me play around a giant monkey. We then got to sing happy birthday and ate some yummy cupcakes and cookies. I was so exhausted by the end that I slept for almost6 hours last night which mom really appreciated.

Rolling Over

Yesterday was a big day for me. I rolled over all by myself for the first time! Mom and I were enjoying some tummy time and Emma came over to lick my head as usual. Well, this time she licked a little too rough so I rolled to my right and rolled right onto my back. Mom didn't believe it so she made me do it another time just to be sure it wasn't a fluke. Guess all that tummy time is really paying off. You should see how big my arms are! Dad was so proud he gave me a big kiss. I can't wait until I am as big and strong as he is!

Movies are fun!

Yesterday was my 2 month birthday. To celebrate, mom and I went to the movies! Yep, the movies! We met me friends Desmond, Julia, Max and Sam there (and their moms, too) and watched "Ghosts of Girlfriends Past". Mom said it was something called a "chick flick", whatever that means. It was nice to hang out with friends in the AC since it was about 92 degrees here yesterday. I didn't get to have any popcorn, but mom said I could have some of her Raisinettes once I get teeth. Can't wait, they looked really yummy!

Shots Hurt!

Today, mom took me to my 2 month doctor's appointment. I weighed 11lb 7oz, which is a gain of 24oz since my last appointment. The doctor said I am in the 47th percentile for weight and mom was happy with that. I measured 22.75in which is in the 31st percentile. But I know I'll keep growing with the way mom and dad are feeding me. But let me tell you about the possibly worst thing in the world: shots. I had 3 of them today in my thighs and it was awful! I cried and screamed, but thankfully mom comforted me and made it all better. I know they're meant to keep me healthy, but I'm glad it's over although the doctor said something about additional shots in 2 months. Glad that's soo far away!

My newest obsession

For some reason, I just can't stop sucking! It's just so soothing! I figured I could stop anytime I wanted to. It started out relatively harmless with a bottle. No big deal! Then I was given a pacifier. That was pretty satisfying, but I wanted more. I discovered my hands and that was great for a while, but soon it just wasn't enough. I needed something new. Something better. That's when I discovered dad's fingers! However, I was caught in the act by mom and I am totally embarrassed! But I know I can kick the habit anytime I want. Maybe I'll start tomorrow...

Working out is hard!

Mom has gotten really strict about 'tummy time' ever since we talked about it in this week's mommie and me class. We were doing it before, but apparently I should be doing it 20-30 minutes a day! That's a lot of work!! Mom has been helping me get my workouts in with the help of my Boppy and the jungle gym play mat that Grandma Bina gave me. So far it's been a lot of fun but I get so exhausted by the end. I definitely need at least a 20 minute nap afterwards! As you can see from these photos, it is definitely paying off. Just look how well I can hold my head up!!

Happy Wednesday

I can't believe it's Wednesday already! I meant to blog yesterday but the day just flew by. Mom and I went to our mommie and me group on Monday and learned all about infant massage which sounds wonderful. Mom hasn't tried it on me yet, but hopefully she will tomorrow morning since it looks so relaxing. Afterwards, everyone went out for pizza and lots of conversation. One lady gave my mom a smoothie recipe that she's going to try tomorrow morning for breakfast. If she likes it, I'll post the recipe for everyone.

It's been raining the past 2 days so mom and I have been taking afternoon naps with Emma to pass the time. But it was nice and sunny here this afternoon so we went to the grocery store and then for a long walk. Too bad it's going to rain again tomorrow. As for me, I've just about outgrown the Newborn size of clothes and I'm in the next level of diapers. Guess I really am getting big! When dad got home tonight I smiled at him without the help of any gas. Mom was a little offended, but I'm just saving a really big smile for her. It will just be a surprise when she gets it! :)

Yummy Hands

Yesterday, I started to discover my hands. At first, a finger or two found their way into my mouth and that was pretty good. Then I balled up my fist and discovered that it made a very tasty alternative to my pacifier. In fact, I like my fists so much that I even started sucking on them last night in my sleep. Here are some pictures that mom took of me yesterday while I enjoyed my yummy hands. Later that afternoon, mom's friend Lyndsay came over for a visit. Her daughter, Evelyn, gave me some great personalized burp clothes and I'm already putting them to great use. If that wasn't enough excitement for one day, Christina and Josh came over after that and we went out for Chinese food. Dad thought it was a little too spicy, but mom and Christina thought it was just right. It looks like it might rain later today, but hopefully we'll take Emma for a walk before the rain starts!
