Cooking Fun

Today, I went to the library with my friend Juliana for a cool event called 'Walk Into The Book'. The book was 'The Ugly Vegetables" by Grace Lin. It was about a Chinese family that plants a vegetable garden while their neighbors all plant flowers. It was a good story, but the best part was the activities afterward. They had a ton of activities set up for us kids, including an area where we could plant our own mystery seeds to bring home (I can't wait for mine to sprout!). But my favorite part was the kitchen area. In the book, the mom makes delicious soup with the ugly vegetables so they set up a little kitchen area with pots, spoons and fake vegetables. Juliana and I had so much fun making some pretend soup for our moms. We also got to check out the cool vegetable and flower plants that the library people made. Then it was time for a snack of goldfish and pretzels. Yum! We had so much fun there and we can't wait for the library to do it again! As for my walking update, I'm still not totally walking but I can definitely take 5-6 steps before I get nervous and sit down. Maybe by my birthday I'll be walking totally on my own!

Finding My Balance

So I'm still a little unsteady on my feet, but I'm working on it! I can take a few more steps, especially if there is something that I really want. Mom has me testing out my "sea legs" a few times a day, but I just stand and take a few steps when I feel confident enough. Dad is going away skiing this weekend with uncle Frank and Mat. He thinks I'll be walking all around the house by the time he gets back. Mom thinks he's crazy. I'll definitely post this weekend and let you know who was right!

Bath Time Fun

Getting clean sure is fun! Mom and dad always make sure I have fun toys to play with and they always get the water temperature just right. Plus, splashing water makes a big mess and is so much fun! Check out tonight's bath time fun!

Happy Birthday Dad!

Just in case you didn't know, today is my dad's birthday! To celebrate, I helped mom make him a cake (mom says angel food cake with cocoa whipped cream frosting is his favorite) and helped wrap his present (we got him a few Wii games). Frank, Jodie and Tyler came over this afternoon and we all sang 'happy birthday' to dad and they ate the cake (mom said I couldn't have any cake until my birthday, boo). I think dad had a great birthday, but I think he really liked my present the best: my first steps! I actually took my first steps yesterday, but I did it again today since today is his birthday.

My 100th Post!

I can't believe it, but this is my 100th blog post! Time sure does fly by when you're growing. I thought it would be fun to look at a photo of me when I was just a few weeks old versus one that mom took of me this weekend. Can you believe how much more handsome I get with each passing month? I'm going to be a total hunk by the time I'm 9!!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Well, happy day after Valentine's day! I had good intentions to post this yesterday, but we were too busy! After a long morning nap, mom and dad took me to Lowe's to pick out a bird feeder for the back porch. I just love watching the birds while I'm waiting for my food and it keeps me entertained. So far, I've seen chickadees, blue jays, a woodpecker and some other cute grey bird in there. Oh, and lots of squirrels! Later in the afternoon, we went to dad's friend Todd's house for Valentine's day dinner. My friends, Tucker and Alden, let me play with all their cool toys, especially their cars! We had some really yummy macaroni and cheese for dinner while the adults had Chinese food. And the best part was that they had a big dog named Wyatt and a cat named Buddy. I've never seen a real cat before so that was really cool! And as always, I've been practicing my standing skills. I'm getting really good and dad says it's just a matter of days before I start walking. I just love to keep him guessing!

Pre-Superbowl Fun

Today I hosted a pre-Superbowl party for my friends Max and Juliana and their parents. I made sure we had plenty of Cheerios and formula on hand for my guests (as any good host should). It was so much fun to show them the cool toys I got for Christmas and catch up with them (check out the video of Juliana pushing my in my wagon down our hallway). In fact, I found out that Max can totally walk now and Juliana isn't far behind! They are such big kids! Dad hopes they inspire me to walk soon. I have been practicing my standing a lot. I'm getting so good that I can stand all on my own for about 10 seconds. I know it doesn't sound like much, but believe me it's a lot of work! It is going to be so cool being a big kid once I start walking. I also wanted to let uncle Matt and aunt Karrie know that we have been thinking of you guys this weekend. We hope you're feeling better and we love you!
