Keeping Busy and Getting Big!

Yesterday I had my 1 year doctor's appointment. Turns out I'm now 31.25 inches (86th percentile) and 20.5lbs (16th percentile). My doctor thinks I'm kinda skinny so mom needs to feed me more (yum!). We were having such a good time until these 2 nurses came in. 3 shots in the arms later, I was horrified and in a ton of pain. Mom gave me lots of kisses and that definitely helped!
Mom has me signed up for a playgroup on Friday mornings and it sure is fun. We play for the first part, then we have an activity, followed by snack time and stories. There are 10 of us in the class and we do the coolest activities! We've finger painted, played with edible play dough and cooked noodles (yummy), and played with a water table. We always wear these red smocks so we don't ruin our cool outfits. Everyone always sits at the blue table for snack time. Sometimes my friend Billy has such yummy snacks I just can't resist!

Indoor Playground Fun

Can you believe it's raining here? Again? The good news is that the rain gave us a good excuse to meet up with friends at a local indoor playground. They had a ton of toys for kids our age to play with, like a play kitchen and tons of puzzles and cars. My favorite by far was the ball pit. I wanted to spend the whole time in there, but mom made me come out so other kids could have a turn. I guess that's called sharing. My friends Lydon and Juliana had a blast as well. I sure hope we get to go again soon, but I sure wish this rain would stop more! Emma and I hate the rain!

Happy Birthday To Me!!

Today, I officially turned 1 and what a fun birthday I had! Mom and dad threw me a big party and all my friends came over and celebrated with me. We had a ton of snacks and pizza for lunch. Then we had cool dinosaur cake, tasty cupcakes and ice cream for dessert. There were also a ton of cool activities for my friends, like getting dinosaur tattoos, digging for dinosaurs in an archaeological dig and playing with balloons. All in all, I think we had about 25 or 30 people at the party! It was a bit overwhelming for me and I was a bit out of sorts throughout the party, but mom put me down for a nap afterwards and that definitely helped me (Emma napped too and boy did she need it!). Mom and dad gave me some yummy mac and cheese for dinner and mom said I can pick what we have for my birthday dinners when I get bigger. That sounds like fun to me!

Getting Ready For The Big 0-1!

Sunday is the big day! I'm so excited to be turning 1!! Of course it makes mom kinda sad that I'm growing up so quickly, but I tell her it just means that I'll be able to do more cool, big kid stuff with her (this always cheers her up). Mom and dad are throwing me a big party on Sunday and I can't wait to see all my friends! It's going to be a dinosaur-themed party with lots of cool dinosaur stuff like an archaeological dig and a cake with a volcano on it. We're supposed to have really nice weather that day so it will be fun if we get to play outside. I can't wait!

To help pass the time until my birthday, I took up climbing yesterday. My favorite thing to climb is Emma's chair in the living room. I can totally see why she likes spending so much time up there, you can see so much from that height! I also like to climb on my wagon so I can reach the top shelves of the baker's rack in the family room. And it's super easy to climb onto the couch in the family room. The best part is that I can get to Emma anytime I want to! Mom has been trying to help me be more gentle to her, but I just get so excited when I see her that all I can do is flail my arms and hit her or grab a chunk of her skin. I'm just glad she's so tolerant of me. Hopefully I'll learn how to be gentle soon!

Party Fun!

I had soo much fun at the big birthday party yesterday!! All of my friends were there and we had a ton of fun playing in Tyler's play room. Everyone got to have some tasty pizza, dips and of course cake. Mom let me try the cake, but I only liked the frosting which is fine since mom says that's her favorite part. All the moms and dads sang happy birthday to us and then we opened presents! My friend, Aarav, gave me a cool book with lots of photos and a puzzle with really big pieces (makes grabbing the pieces so much easier!). Plus, there were all sorts of goodie bags that had a tambourine, maracas, a book and other cool things (dad had to make 2 trips to the car to carry out all my loot). But all good things must come to an end and I definitely crashed in the car. It was such a great party and if my birthday party is anywhere near as cool as this one was, I'm in for a fun birthday! 2 weeks and counting!!

It's Almost Spring!

Today it was almost 60 degrees and the sun was shining! This made mom so happy she went and got a pedicure (I love poking her cool red toenails!). We didn't do too much today since I still have a cold and a bit of a fever. But I did spend some time watching a squirrel sunbathe on our back porch while Emma was sunbathing by the front window. And tomorrow is going to be an extra fun day! We are going to a group birthday party for all my friends that mom and I met last year when I was only a few weeks old. I'll make sure mom takes a ton of video so I can post it tomorrow along with all the party details!

Getting My Walking Legs

I've been practicing like crazy to really get my walking legs and it's finally starting to pay off! Mom has been getting me into playgroups with bigger kids so I've been able to study their techniques. Plus, I saw my friend Juliana this weekend and she gave me some great pointers. It's still scary when I really get going, but I'll just keep practicing and practicing until I look just like a big kid! Somebody better tell Emma to look out!

Funny Dinner part 2

Mom tried to help me upload this video yesterday but it didn't work. So I asked her nicely to help me upload it today. She's such a good mama!

Hummus Is Delicious!

I kind of frustrate mom since I'm such a picky eater. But there are 3 sure things that I will always eat: chicken, cheese and hummus. Not just any hummus, it has to be the kind from Costco. Believe me, mom has made me try lots of different kinds of hummus but the Costco version is the yummiest. I like dipping crackers and red peppers into it and sucking it off since I won't eat the cracker or red pepper (that's just gross). I have been enjoying kiwi fruit lately, but no veggies. Maybe mom can try a new spinach dish to get me to eat my veggies again. Mom, get cooking!!
